[00:01:03] Pinocchio his work has been on Cartoon Network adult swim mad magazine sponge bob comics and much more you may also have heard his dulcet tones on skull tenders the D&D Thank you. It's a part is a crit awards finalists and
[00:01:19] Congratulations, please welcome the show all the way from Massachusetts. We are the wonderful Casey Green That's me man. How are you? I'm coming off a bad week, but oh now having a good day. Otherwise What's up? But what happened?
[00:01:34] Not to get too into it, but it's just been a little too much self-medication with marijuana And ignoring your problems and guess what they don't go away when you do that They don't just you just find yourself
[00:01:47] Yeah laying on the couch crying because you can't figure out which like Tom Waits song to put on this playlist Yeah, I hate them all. I only like the weird ones Wanted to be big in Japan, but it's No
[00:02:04] When I say self-medicating, I mean like I was also just I was literally like smoking joints And that's not good with someone who already has sleep apnea Although smoking is factually cool. Oh, yeah
[00:02:17] The coolest thing you can do, but that's not the best thing you can do has has been proven I mean like yeah, good years of
[00:02:25] Documents on this. Yeah, so I just I just needed to not having it not having your little thing to suck on for a week is Makes you mad and mad makes you mad makes you sad makes you bad
[00:02:37] Well, I just realized it's been almost just over a year since the last time I John It was Christmas in June the last time we talked to Casey. I think so. Yeah. Did you bring your friend disappearing Jay Leno?
[00:02:49] The incredible Shrieking J. Leno. Yeah, I didn't he disappeared into the He got he got into Ant-Man two or three whichever the one he got so Yeah, I didn't I didn't watch the Didn't miss much
[00:03:06] There was like a weird version of modoc that looked like it was from fucking spy kids It was a version of modoc that looked like it came from a comp USA screensaver Okay, I've seen that but I let go of the Marvel movies after in-game 2, you know
[00:03:22] I was like that's a good way to end it and then they kept making more and I was like fuck Yeah, I can't do this anymore, but I saw that modoc and was like I don't want to watch another one to see if that's real
[00:03:32] Because that's insane. That looks like crap. Sadly. It is very real. Oh man. Oh man. Yeah, not good You know what else is not good grooming kids? I don't know. Yeah typically frowned upon Generally unless unless you're grooming them to eat pork products or join the army
[00:03:54] What if you're actually like, you know Doing their hair. Yeah doing their hair and things like that. I think that level of grilling is fine Hey, take taking Westminster dog show take your kid at the haircut. Would you not call getting a haircut groom?
[00:04:08] No, that's weird. Yeah, I mean technically does there's a fine term But in the the world that we live in there's a connotation attached to the word grooming That makes it sound like a little weird, but yeah, so dr. Disrespect a tedious
[00:04:25] Vacuous man. I mean it's in his name sure You know he got kicked off of twitch in 2000 2020 2020 sorry Say he got kicked off a platform that didn't sure my apologies. You got kicked off of Justin TV
[00:04:49] But he was mysteriously banned from twitch in 2020 and there were some suspicions but not a lot of It was a cold trail. Yeah as far as how deep those suspicions went and then recently a forward twitch employee kind of did like a blind item on
[00:05:10] Twitter, I believe and basically Without naming dr. Disrespect said like yeah, that dude got booed off because he was Sending messages to a minor. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I guess that's why you would kick him off a platform Yeah, and Rolling Stone just published a piece
[00:05:29] I don't think we have it in the show notes co-written by friend the show miles clay that a second twitch employee had gone on the record on Background and said that it was in the whisper program
[00:05:44] Which I guess was like a DM that was on twitch for a while And once the person that dr. Disrespect was was talking to you made clear that they were a minor
[00:05:52] The tone and the intensity of the sexual in the window or content did not lessen. Oh boy So it did not seem it did not dissuade him It just was not like something where where he realized. Oh shit. No, that's no bad bad
[00:06:06] I'm not that kind of creep. He was like that's cool so Yeah, didn't wasn't it like the original tweet of was it wasn't just like a sub tweet that That that next twitch employee did that everyone was like whiz is him
[00:06:23] This is him and then he basically like said like oh hey, this isn't supposed to go out yet Like like fuck by denial and did it again Yeah, though the doctor disrespects actual response and to the gentleman by the name of Cody
[00:06:37] Who is the one who made the like the sub tweet the sub tweet by the way in its entirety reads? He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing twitch whispers product
[00:06:49] He was trying to meet up with her at twitch con the powers that be could read in plain text Case closed gang and then a follow-up tweet. No one made the wrong decision
[00:06:59] Fuck him and his boys six days ago to which a doctor disrespect Jake seriously. I get it It's a hot topic that's been settled no wrongdoing was acknowledged and they they meaning twitch paid out the whole contract Yeah, just falling face first Everyone's been kind just
[00:07:24] It's it's been a minute where I feel like everyone got to have their swing. Yeah, I mean It's like he teed it up so perfectly even he got it one in with doing his fucking like I did yeah, fuck it. I did it
[00:07:37] That one was really odd. So Jesus his post the I think my I think it was Felix. Yeah from chopper the coach wheel with like Hi, this is dr. District's lawyer doing great buddy. Yeah
[00:07:54] Felix also said I set this to a public relations professional to give him a panic attack and he's spewing poison out of his pores Involuntarily something tells me that was Ed Yeah Zasran had had quiet conniption about it, but the doctor did his tweet is is
[00:08:13] I've seen some bad PR moves, but this is This is rough because this is I'm quoting here Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual Meyer back in 2017 the answer is yes Were there real intentions behind these messages? The answer is absolutely not
[00:08:31] It's just gobbledygook after that because he just admitted to it. Yeah, and like he made it to it in the sentence before yeah, and uh No charges anything there was any way To deflect or lessen the blow of his actions
[00:08:49] He just said you know what I fuck it fuck it we ball. Yeah What am I gonna get kicked off a kick? Yeah, that's right cuz yeah, he's losing sponsorships and all that stuff pretty rapidly his the company that he works for Midnight society
[00:09:06] That dropped him. I only know Dostard. Mr. Disrespect. He's lost a doctor it Through all the problems Whether it was going into the bathrooms at twitch con or this that's why I was thinking about was like he did this Filming in the bathroom in the bathroom
[00:09:25] And I think the thing was like look at all of like the the human zoo here at the bathroom I'm gonna see like a guy like a plaid shirt that you're over shoulder like the fuck Yeah, I would too if someone came in with a fucking film crew
[00:09:39] Yeah, much of dudes peasant Without a guy behind him with a backwards baseball cap and a bunch of releases and stacks of money just So today At IQ kev reporting a trans sex worker has come forward claiming Dr. Disrespect cheated on his wife with them in
[00:10:03] 2017 the same year who was caught talking to a minor They go on to show detailed Twitter DMs where doc was asking for cam shows while promising a sponsorship in return After he got the cam shows he then blocked them Terrible
[00:10:19] He is living up to his name. Yeah, absolutely very disrespectful this doctor Do you have like a mountain dew in the old spice commercial and shit? And I was pretty wild to learn He was like repped by CAA one of like the bigger actor company agents or whatever
[00:10:34] Just really just him to what do you just put them in fucking Taco Bell commercial? Yeah, apparently that's Anymore fucking Del Taco commercials, maybe No, we can only get you taco Maya, sorry Taco John, yeah, I
[00:10:52] Don't know the Taco John. I'm gonna touch me there, but he's just gonna be doing Papa Murphy NFTs Murphy NFTs Because they they sold them to you uncooked they take EBT. Oh, yeah, that's right
[00:11:08] There was a Papa Murphy's up the street here. Yeah, ask me how I know I've never heard of Papa Murphy, sorry. Oh, it's great It's taken bake things so like if you feel like your pizzas are badly cooked by other pizza restaurants
[00:11:24] You can take it home and badly cook it yourself. It's just that's just fucking frozen pizza, man It's like take a frozen pizza. It's honestly. That's not bad. Yeah, what is it? All right It serves a purpose fine. I haven't had it so I don't know it's fine
[00:11:39] Have you had like Jets pizza? No, okay, because it's about I want to say the same quality Jets pizza It's like Detroit deep dish this is a brick-and-mortar store I can go into and grab the pizza, right? Okay
[00:11:50] The thing is you then have to take it home and finish their job for you Why is everyone doing that Seinfeld joke for fuck's sake? What's the deal with pizza? Yeah, no, it's always where Kramer wanted to do to make your own pizza restaurant. Oh
[00:12:05] Well apparently they thought it was a good idea I Used to work for a guy who wanted to do a hot dog Shop where it was sold by weight, but you could so you can put your own toppings on there the fro yo
[00:12:19] Content, I mean that's that's a little easier because a hot dog is a easy to handle thing for sure sure You know a pizza is a big
[00:12:28] Is it like I don't know how to fucking work a pizza oven? No easy, but I don't the most people don't from working at Whole Foods It seems like the the best qualification For working the the pizza station is having a history degree
[00:12:42] You don't use and some some anger issues that you're not addressing. Okay, it's not hard yet I Was I was a delivery guys for a while and so it's not that hard. Where are where are the pop of murpies?
[00:12:56] I can't find any they're not in Massachusetts. Fuck this place. Yeah pretty much I Don't see any New England on these the restaurant locations not even like Connecticut not even New York fuck I'm fucked. Yeah. Yeah, you'd have to go. Let's see
[00:13:12] Yeah, there one of Pennsylvania. No, no New York Yes, I New York they probably want to kick them out like fuck you mean Let's see here not even Ohio. Not even Ohio. No, well the north northeast is just hurting on the pop of Murphy's front
[00:13:28] They're gonna pop up. That's all with Godfathers or whatever Maybe North Carolina is the closest there's a North character my god. Well, you gotta drive back quick Maybe Indiana or Illinois. I'm just looking. I'm trying to remember like
[00:13:48] Yeah, I mean there's you kind of hose there. There's no lot of The Papa Murphy's excitation sell a frozen version of it. Yeah I mean if you're gonna bake it yourself, you might as well doctor disrespect the age of consent laws moving on
[00:14:03] Moving on as a person who works in the arts I thought you might get a bit of a bitter kick out of this toys are us and their infinite wisdom again We mentioned before we started recording. They're not actually a thing anymore. I thought but
[00:14:19] Apparently not I do remember seeing one in a Macy's The ones when I was just looking for fat boy pants and just being like what the fuck yeah Then walking away, but I guess I guess me like everyone is like toys are as fucking tanked it
[00:14:33] They went down they went under well, that was a whole thing. Yeah, they sold out Yeah, yeah, the whole thing but they're back now in and soulless AI commercial form That's pretty good for like a zombie store like that
[00:14:49] As as the as everyone seems to call them in the article the one of the Kotaku articles you linked is like Yeah, just makes this the most soulless looking Looks like shit. You look at it long enough. You're like I can't this is impossible. It's too clean
[00:15:03] Well, not only that but just like everyone's faces change constantly There's no Like shit because it's a it opens with the bike shop. It always these daydreaming in a bike shop about this Magical thing it looks like really bad ps3 CG's
[00:15:20] It feels like it feels like a trailer for a pure Malou Game that's ever gonna come out. Is this a sequel to Milo? Yeah Yeah, you just got this really uncanny valley shit going on the whole thing even the the Jeffrey the mascot giraffe Yeah, giraffe. Thank you
[00:15:38] It's bad enough that they killed this guy's literal business But now they got to like resurrect him in this awful AI Video to be like he had a dream about toys. Yeah, and you fucked that up
[00:15:53] Yeah, but don't worry you can still you know get a bunch of mediocre shit at Macy's just my my Paw Patrol Action figures and can you even get no Nickelodeon Gak anymore? No, I mean, but there's still there's still plenty of slime
[00:16:08] Everyone was gonna say yeah, there was a big slime resurgence But Gak Gak. No, but you know everyone's got slime five below you There's like a whole aisle of like slime shit. You just like shit to get stuck in the carpet. Yeah
[00:16:21] Oh, it's terrible stuff. Yeah, you don't you don't actually want it, but it's there for you It's there. It's there to be consumed and to be The ruin your day. Hey for five dollars You know 542 with tax. Hey, you won't get really mad at your kid
[00:16:38] Yes, so one of my favorite comments about the Toys R Us AI video is Eric Wickham at ES underscore Wickham Sorry, you're not allowed to shower today Toys R Us needs to make another shitty commercial that looks worse than if they just use actors
[00:16:52] He's not wrong the exponential cost of using all this AI is just is gonna kill us all eventually I have kind of forgotten About that aspect when it came to the AI stuff because like I'm not I'm not scared about it as an artist
[00:17:07] It's sure and I've seen people people have like tagged me on like a Some this is fine thing. Yeah, it wasn't even the original image It was a bootleg of the image that put through like an AI thing that made it move
[00:17:20] I guess I did not click on it because I just don't care That's not gonna replace what I do like I'm already making like a bunch of shit for a calendar and whatnot like You know AI is not gonna do that
[00:17:31] But I do I did forget for a while that yeah the cost of doing these stupid things is Fucking insane So the Kotaku article you mentioned Really well written Ethan gotch really nailed it here in the last graph
[00:17:47] What we're supposed to take away from this ad is an affection for whimsy and a renewed appreciation for humanities Enduring will to dream but the real message that dreams are cheap and easily replaced by AI
[00:17:59] It's a proof-of-concept exercise leveraging a dead brand's last drops of nostalgia for a pre-internet age aimed at convincing other companies that they too can cut costs by replacing human input with random slop and Yeah, it's pretty much yeah how like why use that for
[00:18:17] Toys R Us a thing. That's not even like an actual brand or store anymore Because of because they because of nostalgia and they want to try That's the one part of all this AI bullshit that I'm like I'm sick of waiting
[00:18:31] I kind of want them to smoke the whole pack In kind of a situation like make make the movie out of AI make the script out of AI do the marketing out of AI do the buzz Out of AI the posters do all that shit is AI
[00:18:47] Smoke the whole pack and see how far you get with whatever you fucking make It's kind of already starting to happen, but I would just love to see AI completely eat shit and die. It's not even like a curiosity or
[00:19:00] Half-baked idea that has promised, but it didn't it wasn't ready for market It this is this is dog shit This isn't even like on the same level of those like two or three movies
[00:19:10] They released in the mid 90s where you had like a little joystick with four buttons And you could change where the path was going on the movie. Do you remember that? DVD right no I have no idea what y'all target. Oh, there was two movies. There was one
[00:19:28] There was a bike race through a city and a second one was that you were a Private detective that was also a robot And there was just games. Those are just DVD games. It was like a 3d. Oh
[00:19:41] Like oh, okay. Well, I mean it was like these are actually released in theaters But this was but it was like playing like a so everyone has one of those things they can like okay
[00:19:51] I want the bike guy to go right, but everyone else hits left. Yeah, I just see you can kind of fucking explodes I think there was yeah, that's right because it was like a voting thing and yeah It was like it was like smello vision 2.0 in the way
[00:20:12] It just sounds like it would be a I mean interesting yes But like a concept like in process mess because people are just fucking chaotic The cap this awful cuz I don't know when I would ever talk about this ever again in my life
[00:20:25] My grandparents actually took me to the one where you were choosing the the narrative for the the cyborg PI okay at Northwest Plaza which is a a mall and a movie theater that has not existed in over 15 years
[00:20:41] I want to say and my grandparents had no interest in interacting with the buttons So it was just me And a guy who was probably his mid-20s and his girlfriend
[00:20:53] Oh, wow there was there was even like five of us in the theater or there was five of us But there wasn't not even ten of us and so I'm just like fucking no
[00:21:03] I want I wanted to dispose his cyborg piss in the sink. Fuck yeah. I won you know like That was a real thing you could vote on which was like what does he do with his robot piss and
[00:21:15] I guess when the things was he just like pours it in the sink. Yeah, I'm like cool This is great interactivity. I agree with the robot in that You know pissing in the sink is great. So I
[00:21:26] Believe you that exists. I don't like I'm trying to look it up trying to be like it's like what was that call? That's so interesting if it was actually in a theater or whatever, but I am like Netflix does that, you know
[00:21:39] Yeah, Netflix has like little choose you like a couple of interactive things like a cartoon and like a love thing or whatever That's interesting to think about but I don't know like in a theater where much of people are just you know voting on this or that
[00:21:53] I imagine Ideally like if like a test screening. I bet it probably went really well Like if you had captive audience in a way, but if you're just kind of acting asking people to spend their money to interact with it
[00:22:08] Yeah, just a weird piece of technology. I'm saying that is probably still cooler than AI. Oh, yeah Yeah, that's more there's more human error in that than AI AI is Some kind of error but not yours other place space ace or
[00:22:27] Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say like this. Yes space ace dragon Not age the other one. I know a quest now. That's layer like dragon's layer. There we go Don Bluth
[00:22:37] Was it done? Yeah, okay? Yeah, so that only is a Christmas and June. Oh, yeah, it's also pride month It is indeed hooray. We love our pride month stories and None so much more the newsmax's Addison Smith Who took to Twitter to announce his engagement to Cherise?
[00:22:59] Edwards with the post pride month is so defeated I love you at Cherise Edwards with a photo of them proposing and then her ring First of all, no What a dumb thing to just stir up like he got what he wanted
[00:23:16] I guess to be fucking clowned on by everybody He was formerly one American news and then he was let go by Newsmax So, you know a guy of class and quality already This from the Daily Beast Speaking to the Daily Mail on Monday, which oh boy
[00:23:33] Smith rejoiced at his engagement announcement quote triggered an entire army of libs And he couldn't quote think of a better way to cap off pride Getting yelled at online is my favorite way to spend pride
[00:23:46] Sure, he's a little pain-piggy because I said I wanted to go to the Chapel Rowan show Prime months so defeated and then Edwards meanwhile reacted To her bows treat by referencing Donald Trump's campaign slogan by saying make June great again
[00:24:03] So, you know he got re-sweeted by the emails Chong which is kind of like alright fine, whatever Sent the idiot carpet. Yeah, what's that idiot doing anymore? Yeah, CNN colonist Jill Philippovic tweeted you proposed to your girlfriend and your first thought was gay people weird flex babe
[00:24:22] Others were out alright confused by a wise Smith felt compelled to blast Pride month during his quote ostensibly straight engagement announcement Adding that it was quote even more hilarious that he was so obsessed with it
[00:24:34] Kendall Brown points out it's actually crazy that these two commemorated their love for one another by taking a shot at queer people Instead of literally saying anything nice about each other and that they can't see what a massive self-own that is
[00:24:48] Yeah, I know that if I made my wedding engagement about anything other than being engaged to my wife That my wife would be like what the fuck are you doing? You think he said that out loud Babe would you like to own the libs with me?
[00:25:04] Probably I'd love to get the blue hair barista's mad at The rest of my life than you I mean if she says yes and is like down to also do that Then you found your fucking annoying wife then good congratulations. Yeah, I
[00:25:21] Guess so and yeah, she did say like you'll make June great again, which you know June's pretty yeah Okay, so she is done got it. Yeah, she's she's pretty dumb got it And of course he doubles down because this what these people do
[00:25:36] Hundreds of thousands of you is endless angry comments cry laughing emoji The libs are triggered pride month is decimated huge white boy summer w hold the fucking phone white boy summer is different Don't you dare? I have a hot take here and I feel like
[00:25:51] the concept of white boy summer should be engraved in our Constitution every American every Nationalized citizen everyone with a green card ought to be able to have a government funded white boy summer Yes, where it's just you hanging out with the boys for two or three months
[00:26:08] You're listening to your favorite MF doom record. You're just smoking way too much weed Yeah, you're having typhoo for the first time You're just like fucking around for three months your cell phone is barely ever charged But you know where to be at what time
[00:26:24] Everyone deserves to have a white boy summer. It doesn't need to be this white nationalist bullshit. It just needs to be like yeah, I got 20 bucks Yeah, white boys summer at its core is just a vibe Yeah, everyone everyone deserves to have one white boy
[00:26:37] Yeah, you don't have you don't have to ruin it with your with your bad wedding joke with your bad wedding proposal joke He's taking it from us and I think I'm gonna take it back, you know Taking back the Boy boy summer should be
[00:27:01] Every look every white boy gets their little summer even him but he ruined it so we're gonna take it away from him Yeah, it's not his anymore. We're giving he has to dress like it's fall now we're giving his white boy summer to a
[00:27:15] disadvantage family of four and And Hang around a lake house Yeah, we're just we're taking them to Branson He's going to Silver Dollar City on acid A family of four were micro dosing them. Yeah Yeah, sorry you have to
[00:27:41] The it's in the waivers you sign. Yeah read that fine print real close Yeah, you want do you want this $500 daily stipend or what? And our last story this week is a lesson in being too online I think so
[00:27:57] I mean all these stories are to be quite honest. You know what that's fair in this particular case house of decline wonderful Wonderful cartoonists someone who just I really
[00:28:08] It's got a lot of guts for going up against some of the people they've gone up against she posted this Comic and it's I'm tired of not selling any lemonade. They changed the sign to anti-woke lemonade
[00:28:20] Immediately rushed by the the goatee in sunglasses fellas young men over like to support your business and the seller saying you know This feels wrong, but the money kind of helps. It's funny Yeah, but I remember when they originally posted that like earlier in the year
[00:28:34] That's just how houses always was always done. They just they made a lot and then they just post a lot It's worked for them, but like yeah this guy sort of glommed on to it
[00:28:44] Yeah, Basil add link of sunshine on my knees begging leftist comic artists to stop adding unnecessary text holy shit and then going through and crossing out what they believe is the unnecessary text in the comic and House you know it kind of took him to task
[00:29:02] But not after and not until after Basil then responded to his own tweet with I'll be on this point again and again Until we stop letting Nazi dumb fucks make better comics than us and unironically posting a stone toss comic One that's not even really that funny
[00:29:17] No, unless you're as poisoned and online and right wing as the stone toss guy Like I looked at that one and I'm like I get what he's trying to say But I don't understand his message right now in that kind of like right wing
[00:29:31] Right wing realm that is trying to say like that that's just me. I guess not being too in there So it's not that funny. It's just not that funny Yeah, whereas the other like houses one is perfectly fine
[00:29:44] And you know what if I I imagined it without a text to myself and the way they did it You know and I was like it would be kind of funny, but the text is fine on its own
[00:29:54] It's not that much text. Yeah, it's good. It's not that much text The house even responded directly to this person. This isn't that much text I just think you don't like to read which would explain your general vibe of abject stupidity
[00:30:09] And that's the truth. Yeah, it's the complete truth of this whole thing and the OP Of course look I like your comics and your ideas But you got to learn how to take any minor criticism without devolving into personal attacks
[00:30:21] And here it is three to the year, but I straight up don't like you on a personal level Oh Please don't attack me the person who said your comic wasn't good Just no net just straight Yeah, just a fucking master master fucking post I
[00:30:41] Saw that started to pop off that whole day with the discourse and everything like I love house I was on decline. I had a podcast. Oh, that's right. Yeah, man. I can't I can't follow this right now
[00:30:53] Same like every like everyone's opinion on this and house just in the middle of it I know I'd like of all the things and what's funny is that Yolo swag studios. I think used a piece of
[00:31:06] piece of your art the neutered dog going ha ha ha ha as a reply Yeah, like I like it got so it got so like insular that it like people started to like at me on Twitter when I posted
[00:31:19] Just unrelated comics about like referencing the discourse of house of decline and shit And I'm just like stop it. Yeah, stop it Just like a dog that did something bad just fucking stop it Yeah, this isn't worth anything not even as a joke for Christ's sake
[00:31:37] No, and that's exactly like come on dude that also led to some people digging through this basil persons old tweets and low and behold Their tweet people on Twitter will really be like you believe in voting that pales an effective list to my strategy
[00:31:52] Firebombing a Walmart and then not firebomb a Walmart Don't shit dog shit bad I think the only thing meaningful that came out of this discourse was a bunch of craier types on Twitter kind coming together and being like yeah when you're kind of like a
[00:32:10] semi-public figure in whatever way that you are people are going to Save dumb shit to you and you have a God-given right to tell him to eat shit and die. Yeah, like there's no playing nice like I think Robert from
[00:32:24] Kuzo Mia all that stuff. Okay. Yeah, he says something like that Friend of the show Rory blank. I chimed in on it nine times out of ten of someone Who is hiding behind an anonymous moniker on the internet is being shitted you
[00:32:38] Sometimes the best thing to do is either ignore it flat out or just tell them to hey Why don't you pull your bomb lip over your head and swallow? Yeah, yeah in the words of
[00:32:47] Orin juice Jones, you know pull out the jammy and flat blast both the all Um, yeah, I Mean people dudes like that even when they're not that like Aggressively like this is even more worse the the link of sunshine account
[00:33:03] Is like somehow worse because they're also a fucking a Checkmark they got the Twitter blue thing So they just have like they're there no one but they have too many people looking at their fucking
[00:33:16] Like ideas and thoughts and that's how that shit like escapes containment. You know yeah Just when random fucking people think they can just do this it just goes off Unlike like even their original stupid tweet is 23,000 Likes and people just like well timed to engage
[00:33:34] Timed engage my fellow blue check haver Well the worst part about it is that the discourse did in fact inspire a stone toss to make a comic It's indecisible. Well, I saw I think I saw some people post that is that really a like a legit stone toss
[00:33:53] Jam, I don't even want to look it up I if it feels like like with with like the weird little Creature well, that's a direct reference to an older piece of art The I think it was called the intruder. Oh well that shows how much I don't know
[00:34:10] I gave up on stone toss once I learned they were just some fucking loser in Texas What a who's that was though? I mean just like oh, it's just some tip shit from it's just some guy
[00:34:22] Who like was in like your desktop publishing class in high school that? Smelt like fucking rice water and Doritos He was always asking the teacher if they could play fucking Tiger Woods on the
[00:34:37] She guys are really funny flash comic, and it's like the fucking quiz nose commercial. Oh Well to wash that taste out of my mouth I think it's time for crypto scam of the week Casey you ready? Yeah You're listening to 48 minutes of dogs barking the podcast
[00:34:57] Is it stone toss See he's got one Yeah, he's doing NFTs not crypto my mistake. I'm sure there's a crypto out there will be at some point You know we never followed up Jason on the schmorky Yeah derivative art Well, I mean wasn't the whole
[00:35:19] Conspiracy that a lot of people thought was stonetoss was schmorky Yeah, I thought that was the deal for many years now now look who's got egg on their face Yep, and you know what I owe Dave Kelly an apology for exactly that one thing and nothing more
[00:35:35] Anyways much happier topic Jason Gerulo remember that guy just under rule So he's a d-list celebrity on the same level as the guy from Buck cherry And the one guy with glasses from the I'm a PC and I'm a Mac commercial John Hodgman
[00:35:55] Well, he at least had a career. I paid somewhat attention to but I have to be fair next fun anymore I did a series of comedies. He was sitting there. I do have one of his books more information than you require
[00:36:06] Oh, yeah that now you owe him an apology. I just rip it I'm just ripping so there's been a series of celebrity crypto coins Iggy, Azalea 50 cent Jason Gerulo Hulk Hogan and a couple other individuals where there is some guy I forget his name
[00:36:27] I think he's like a sought from Saudi Arabia or something who is basically That's a celebrity something like I don't know 10 20 grand to launch a token they don't really understand how the crypto space works and
[00:36:40] They end up being their name and their brand fucking run through the dirt and this individual who who pays them 23 grand or whatever to license their name for this essentially like walks off with millions and millions of dollars
[00:36:54] Yeah, the gentleman's name by the way is Sahil Aurora and he has been Linked to this one to Caitlyn Jenner. I believe G unit might also have been Sahil 50 cent claims That he was hacked I have no association with this crypto as do Metallica who were also
[00:37:14] Recently hit with one. So the only one that we really confirmed would be Jason Derulo Caitlyn Jenner But yeah, Sahil Aurora not a good fella This is from decrypt when asked why Jason Derulo is now outing him Aurora replied part of the script
[00:37:29] Decrypt then questioned if he devised a plan for Derulo to call him out as part of the deal Aurora responded with something like that So apparently it's a whole a whole thing and people are still falling for this shit like even a year later after you guys were
[00:37:45] You know doing crypto scams and shit. Oh, yeah with me when I was here. Yeah, it's well. It's gotten worse. Yeah Every week I have to go through these and go well Which one are we doing this week because there's like five because it's so absurd
[00:37:59] It's so absurd that what we have to pick now because like a week or so ago It was like well as either talk about Hulk Hogan right or talk about a Company that verifies token contracts make sure that they don't have any
[00:38:13] Vulnerabilities and things like that a certifier. I think sort of K whatever they're called hacked a day white hat hack on Kraken and like stole three million dollars the proof like this Vulnerability and they're like code in their system and people are just kind of like well
[00:38:32] That's cool that you figured that out and you let them know why it so why you have to be three million dollars And why did part of it go through tornado cash? Like why why couldn't you've just done like I don't know
[00:38:45] 500 bucks and been like hey you guys got You guys got a problem. Here's your 500 bucks back first of all Jason Derulo's coin was not Derulo coin
[00:38:54] Which I would have expected no he used dollar sign Jason which really just ruins my plans for ripping people off in the future but Just do what I didn't add an extra in at the end you know what not a bad idea
[00:39:07] I'll make sure you get a cut of the proceeds, but yeah at Jason Derulo damn Sahil got me That's alright that's okay That's motivation to take this all the way just bought 20k worth
[00:39:21] In this for my fans for the long haul going to do everything in my power to send this shit to the moon updating deck screeners shortly So not only did he admit to getting conned by this guy, but also he's like well
[00:39:32] I'm I'm gonna go all in on this and that's the only way to save face with your fans Is to get fucking owned with them? Yeah, pro the doge slum doge millionaire Responding with bro made one million off his rug and put 20k back in the chart
[00:39:50] Lol, you're not stupid or new to crypto Jason. You know exactly what was happening. Don't play dumb now and Yeah After he posted that the token spiked 736 percent to a market cap of five million in less than two hours
[00:40:09] So yeah, it's only gonna get worse Casey. Yeah sadly I know I still I still get like people who try to follow me on Twitter that are just like Fine coin. This is fine coin NFT whatever coin. It's like Christ. I don't care
[00:40:25] Yeah, I do do people who like NFTs or pay attention to anything's like listen to this because I could at the very least be like I have nothing to do with any of that shit by all means
[00:40:36] Nor do I have any how do you stop that shit? You can't you just for my opinion I just feel like I'd rather let it die on the vine because that's all I've seen them do the pepe guy kind of just
[00:40:46] Oh Matt fury Matt fury Matt fury leaned into it. Yeah, I think I think he kind of been boxed in a way That was I think the house the only way out
[00:40:55] Was the kind of take some control of it because that yeah, but also like in the in the movie The feels good man movie. Yeah, there was a very
[00:41:04] Telling and nice thing by one of his friends is cartoonist Johnny Ryan that he said he's a bit of a dummy and He said in such a sweet way that I hold on to that So when I see Matt fury do things like this
[00:41:18] Like you can get you with it. I'm like mage doesn't know yeah, and no one's really telling him otherwise So whatever I don't know a fucking weird thing in the crypto space was earlier this year
[00:41:28] The degenerates in the crypto world realized that there were other characters from boys club. Oh, yeah Yeah, there was no Landwolf Lee land wolf alone exactly Barfing out loud leave him alone
[00:41:46] Damn, but so the thing that kills me is that someone one of the tokens looks like it actually might Fucking go to some ridiculous market cap like the project isn't dead or the meme isn't dead But people keep launching a land wolf token. I forget on which chain
[00:42:02] But it just like rugs and I saw a tweet where like, you know what? This is the fifth land wolf token That's been launched on base or whatever
[00:42:11] Well, I have a good feeling about this one and then seeing them respond to their own tweet like a couple hours later Like oh that one rug Yeah, I think I see nothing but like just different versions of the this is fine one come out
[00:42:23] And I'm just like that's probably all fucking rugs Oh, yeah, like I like but like the people who fall for it of people I just care the least about in my life. So yeah, I fucking block and move on there was a
[00:42:35] meme token called dog with hat and Someone on pulse chain made a token. I hope you've seen this I hate be the one to tell you this that was not a dick with butt No Well see dick butts even like I care even less about
[00:42:54] Not only any any people who use it, but the meme itself I can't hold on to that that was even weirder than the dog burning to death in a house Right question how fucking melting. Yeah, there's another called action
[00:43:07] I let go of the copyright on dick, but I just I just generally I Genuinely don't care what people do with it anymore. It's it's so stupid and like Cute and like vulgar and not in a fun way anymore, you know
[00:43:20] Yeah, if you want to put it on a fucking billboard mr. Reddit I don't give a fuck anymore because I there's a Yearly thing that happens in our neck of the woods called the the punk rock flea market And there's people selling patches and shit
[00:43:33] And I saw somebody with a dick butt patch that they were selling in their store I was like, do you know I know that I know that artist. Oh, I don't know I found this on the internet and like, okay, even people with the dogs still are like
[00:43:44] Oh, I didn't realize like I couldn't use it They thought it was some kind of public good if only then I could stop you know drawing all together Well, there's that yeah, but the 50 cent one the 50 cent fucking he claims he got hacked, right?
[00:43:59] This is 50 comm, you know was replaced was up then this complex article that I liked here I thought it was pretty interesting back in 2018 TMZ reported 50 was the first rapper to accept Bitcoin as payment for his animal ambition album in
[00:44:17] 2014 which was 700 bitcoins at the time at the time each Bitcoin was worth 662 dollars so 50 pocketed approximately 463 thousand dollars in sales by then a stake of that size had grow to 7.8 million a month later He found for bankruptcy
[00:44:37] And then he did in his sworn testimony said I have not owned either a Bitcoin account or any Bitcoin so Tells me that 50 is no stranger to cryptocurrency So weird. Yeah, really interest and we ever find out like the real truth about this stuff
[00:44:55] Well finding out the real truth about stuff is a good and noble cause and I really hope we do that That's why I think we do crypto scam of the week Inspired by one of the guys on YouTube that I really love coffee Zilla
[00:45:08] Who are who recently finally released his 1 million follower? Special like couple years late Coffee Zilla's video was more of a short film and That brings us to our main topic tonight, which is Adam films
[00:45:25] Dotcom now Casey you brought this to my attention. I had asked. Hey, what's the thing you want to talk about? You said you spent a lot of time on Adam films calm I did not know that this was a thing
[00:45:35] This was not one of the places that I frequented but then I started doing some research and I was very intrigued So first and foremost, what was it about Adam films that drew you to the site?
[00:45:45] It just animation. Yeah, like they they they had put I got it mixed up But at the same time there was another site called icebox calm Okay That was that was a like flash animation Kind of shithole where but it was like at the the early age of
[00:46:03] Like 2000 like literally the year 2000 and they got like different Riders like Mike Reese from from Simpsons Someone from South Park to make some like animated shows and some of those don't hold up as much like mr. Wong
[00:46:18] About a really racist Chinese butler and his the woman he works for but I remember it and other things like Jesus And his brothers are hard drinking Lincoln Man Rock-and-roll dad is another one that had Peter bag from hate
[00:46:33] Oh, yeah, yeah attached as the as the artist or queer duck queer duck was a great one That that one actually was like big enough that it had like a little DVD movie spinoff. Okay. It was about a queer duck
[00:46:47] Duck was great alongside icebox. I also learned about Adam films which had fucking Ardman animation fucking gromp walls and grommet weirdos doing Angry kid. It was a really fun stop motion slash or live action
[00:47:02] Kind of mix. What else do they have on Adam David Lynch showed up? Oh dad Dunn land Dunn land Yes, David Lynch's Dunn land is still so fucking funny Yeah Here's the piece from the Guardian the weird and wonderful career of David Lynch takes another curious twist
[00:47:19] But the news that the director of blue velvet and Wild at Heart is to develop a series of cartoon shorts For an American entertainment website entitled dumb land the cartoon series Beginners is that a 15 film was running about three minutes in length with further installment screened every fortnight
[00:47:36] Lynch's quoted as saying it's going to be crude but Sophisticatedly crude. It's very dumb and very bad Yeah, I mean I've seen it since then and it's it's hilarious, but it is it is just him in flash animation
[00:47:50] Sorry, I gotta do the way it's gonna be dumb and very bad quality Yeah, like my well if you can believe it back again Well at dumb land It's a skit 92 degrees in the shade
[00:48:05] Yeah, I lived for his weather reports what he was doing. No, it's during three That was and actually he's still doing a bed But it really was like between a lot of those like short film areas like Adam films also had like just otter short films that
[00:48:20] Didn't weren't series. Yeah beyond that like the cat with hands I always remember that one that was on Adam films a lot of this stuff you can find on I think YouTube nowadays
[00:48:30] Yeah, but like it was still like an interesting like, you know, it was the year 2000 the internet was just starting They were trying they were trying it out. They were being like, well, what if we give fucking art man animation and David Lynch some money the official
[00:48:42] Star Wars fan film network was on there And that was okay. Yeah, that was a deal that Lucasfilm struck courtesy of entertainment weekly back in November of 2000
[00:48:55] So yeah Adam film Lucasfilm struck a deal with the site to give junkies an official home on the net for their spoofs and documentaries The Star Wars fan film network will go live at the end of the month Yeah
[00:49:06] Send your submissions now besides splitting the ad royalties of Adam films George Lucas's production company will allow the hoax filmmakers to use Their vault of sound effects in their mini flex. So the whole Lucas art sound library would be available for all right
[00:49:21] That's a pretty dense place to go because I got one of those CDs when I was doing audio production And it was like this is CD 42 of 637 and it's you know 99 tracks and it's just every last little sound effect you could possibly imagine
[00:49:37] Just all there. And so they've got that whole library. That's that's a lot of cool sound effects. It's a lot of good I mean I am and Lucasfilm really
[00:49:46] Pioneer I mean Bill Burt in him in and of himself was like the sound effects guy for a very long time Yeah, it was such an interesting era of like them trying to figure out them being like I guess Hollywood trying to figure out like
[00:50:01] What the internet can be used for and they gave a lot of interesting writers and up and coming folks like their own Many series essentially to fuck around with like yeah, not only on Adam films But it's sister site shockwave.com which yes
[00:50:17] It probably hard to find nowadays because shockwave such a bland fucking name But it was a part of flash and micro media Yeah before Adobe fucking bottom out well because the other thing that really interested me was that
[00:50:29] You know it was founded in 1998. Yeah, like the video on the internet in 1998 and by the time it became actually Adam Films was Scant you couldn't I mean video was very hard to both create and get people's eyeballs on
[00:50:45] Because it just took so damn long company was founded in 98 by Mika Salmi and then Sequoia capital Michael Moritz Were lead investors so like they had a lot of big money already behind it just at the start in 98 Which is baffling six years into their existence in 2006
[00:51:04] I should say so probably eight years if I'm doing my math, right MTV bought them Yeah everything Adam films acting games addicting clips and shockwave.com This buyout occurred shortly after negotiations against and subsequently with Google to purchase YouTube
[00:51:22] They were getting everybody in into this whole mix here, but boy Joe cartoon was on Adam films Of course, you know had his own site too, but he also had his work there. Yeah boy
[00:51:35] I thought I'd love the shit out of Joe cartoon as stupid as that was I watched the hell out of fucking frog and Blender frog in a blender. Do you guys remember princess? Are you talking about the Matt Stone trade Parker?
[00:51:48] Yep, I was actually trying to bring that up a second ago I remember watching that as a teenager probably like 13 or 14 I remember many years later reading an interview with you I can't remember was both of them or one of them
[00:52:01] But they're basically saying like a shockwave pay us money to make a cartoon on their new Format and then we gave them something that was so vulgar that they kind of felt ashamed that they ever did
[00:52:11] Yeah, I mean the first episode is is the guy getting a handjob from his wife Princess not understanding it and then when he finally comes he accidentally shoots a fucking his load through his wife's head
[00:52:26] And then the next episode is the is the fucking like officer coming to be like what happened here I don't think ever saw this one. Oh my god Faster faster thank Christ. It's the internet archive. Yeah
[00:52:40] Exists I've been reading that a lot lately or watching a lot of stuff there lately, but it is still all on Archive.org folks go look up princess Our show would not exist without it. That's let's just be honest
[00:52:53] One of the funniest things about this Mika Salmi guy the guy who created the site in general was that he was a former Executive at Sony and EMI the record labels per variety He discovered both nine-inch nails and presidents of the United States of America
[00:53:11] Wait, really a parent according to this variety article. Yeah, it's Jesus Christ They already had a deal with Warner Brothers When they started but that kind of didn't really do as much as they'd hoped That they tried to get a deal going with New Line and Paramount
[00:53:29] But none of those really worked out it wasn't until by a comm slash MTV Where they they got the big the big money and really started taking off And that's when you got a stuff like Ardman signing because that was maybe a year later or yeah
[00:53:44] We got a year or two later. You had Ardman showing up to do Angry Kid David Lynch showing up That was also 2000 So yeah, we had a lot of that stuff kind of happening and it stayed pretty much as it was for a long while
[00:53:56] But then they they went to Sundance This is per screen daily January 2000 in the first lot internet licensing deal announced at a web crazed Sundance Film Festival Adam films has paid a modest upfront fee to acquire both on and offline rights
[00:54:13] To Jason rightman's 16 minute short feature in God we trust I don't know this one the in God. We trust it was before Jason rightman really did anything of note Because like this is way before he did Juno way before he did anything relating to the Ghostbusters franchise
[00:54:29] This is kind of his because it's Ivan rightman son. I say they did work with Universal Studios That's Frank beyondy from Universal Studios got involved there as well from the start
[00:54:40] They had all this big money the future of film is on the web that was kind of their main thesis and it kind of proved Right mean they lasted it. They weren't wrong. It's just like the internet wasn't quite there yet
[00:54:53] But I like I like I still remember all that shit from like shockwave Adam films icebox was the other one I kept bringing up yeah All the weird shit from from that like those things are permeated my head for the rest of my life
[00:55:06] You know no, and you're not wrong like we did a whole Christmas themed episode about just about the trade parker Matt Stone the spirit of Christmas where That was they got passed around on VHS
[00:55:18] And there's one probably one of the first like things that got passed around as like a movie file Like when like and just like a really low res movie
[00:55:26] All the emails or something well also if I remember correctly it was included by mistake by a developer on a Tiger Woods PlayStation one game Just secretly just like you like hack it and be like oh there Yeah, if you put the Tiger Woods game in your PC
[00:55:44] You could just grab that MOV file and it would play this spirit of Christmas hell. Yeah I don't know anything else that would give me to play a electronic arts Golf game in that era yeah just to see if it was real
[00:55:59] Yeah, well, yeah, cuz I mean Tiger Woods golf has always just been kind of lame I mean golf video games in general. Hey, man. Don't don't be smirch hot shots golf. I'm not talking about hot shots
[00:56:09] I'm talking about the one his hot shots rules. I'm not I'm talking about the ones that are like Real accurate and you're gonna like that's fine Golden tea whatever you know all that stuff like I don't care Wonder if you could find that old Tiger Woods games tiger
[00:56:24] Just like it was recalled it said on the on the wiki. I'm looking up and now I'm curious if I could like Could I find that on eBay? Recalled South Park it is it's 65 bucks. Oh no, I don't want to pay $65 for that
[00:56:38] Let me go to let me go down do acceptable is it a The disc is in fair condition with some where quite a bench tested working It's the South Park version but I'm thinking like wow
[00:56:50] That's like worth as much as like a copy of Earthbound, which is a game that is a million times Yeah, I would rather like deal with earthbound Try to hook up my foot like a fucking disc reader to my Mac right now. Yeah, no So 2008
[00:57:09] Adam films got bought by Comedy Central I know essentially they were like, oh, yeah We're gonna commission a bunch of original web series this here seen it along with four new original web series commissioned by Comedy Central
[00:57:23] Which range from an animated show about conjoined twins connected at the naughty bits To a live-action series about three clueless slackers who attempt to be militia guards in the US Mexican border
[00:57:36] Adam.com welcomes user-generated submissions and so they tried to do the funny or die model a couple years too late 101 or whatever it was called. Yeah, are any of those stupid things that they made like I kind of remember the conjoined twins one
[00:57:51] I vaguely remember that. Yeah, wasn't like the Sklar Brothers. They got a couple of like fucking. Oh, yeah That sounds right. There's St. Louis boys, too. So that that feels right go ask them Go find them right now
[00:58:05] They're filming cheap seats right now. They're busy. According to this article This is fucking ridiculous the new site has more than 20,000 videos at its library already and predecessor Adam films calm pulled in More than 1.9 million unique visitors monthly which executives say is more than online
[00:58:24] Comedy brethren funny or die super deluxe and the onion combined. I miss super deluxe I do see on Maria Bamford show. Do you remember? Um, you're also stupid. Oh That that's like that's all on YouTube also and the animator
[00:58:42] The guy who created that his name escapes me is so cool Like just that animation style is so fun. He did the he did the aqua teen movie intro That guy and then I was I was trying to remember but it just hit me brad neely
[00:58:55] The JFK and the George Washington videos were originally on super deluxe my wife Yeah asked for brad neely had a had a huge professor brothers fandom going in her own in her own head there They wound up getting adult swim shows brad neely did and
[00:59:13] None of them really hit though. Sadly. I kind of hoped china illinois would do it I kind of hope scarf narflin beef leo would do it but he cut that off at the knees by naming it. Yes
[00:59:25] But I did like china illinois at times. Oh, yeah that character of Baby cakes was so and that baby cakes was a was a super deluxe show Just I remember that yeah Devon flin that's the guy who did y'all so okay
[00:59:41] He's still like animating to this day, but it's he's I love going back to y'all so stupid and just the The high color intensity of Insanity of it. Well, yeah, because I see a lot of stuff now that feels like it came directly from that
[00:59:56] Like there's some stuff from smiling friends that feels like it came from it or even like yellow crystal fantasy or Any number of of the teenage euthanasia has a lot of stuff that feels ripped straight from That style. Oh sure
[01:00:09] He was apparently an animation director on on wonder shows and oh well that makes a lot Which is which is pf which is pfr who did tng in asia. So yeah, there's a there's a there's a direct line
[01:00:20] I remember reading an interview with the guys at wonder shows and they said something that they got Like something ridiculous like 800 000 or a million dollars per episode for like to produce it Good lord
[01:00:33] I mean you can kind of see it on the screen at least like sometimes some of the animation is pretty good for what you know Like what it is. Yeah, and it was definitely fucking funny
[01:00:42] I still the episode where the one puppet gets the the sores on his body that everyone loves to eat Cuties. Yeah I was rewatching at the like past month or so I didn't get that far in it, but I I always love pfr. I just gotta
[01:01:00] Good enjoy that again. They got chris maloney from fucking Everything on as like, you know Law and order the law and order he's been in a ton of stuff. But yeah, that's that's the one I remember is that's right
[01:01:13] That's for you. He's telling people not not to eat him or something. It's just I mean in the second season, especially wonder shows and pulled in some killer guest stars David cross episode. Yeah. Yeah, that's the one I was thinking Oh, the entire holis apples ones creep
[01:01:28] Well, I know a few people that like one of their most prized possessions of media is having both seasons of wonder shows and on dvd That includes me. Yeah, because the season two has the the front that has it looks like it's somebody's hair
[01:01:43] And it's like, oh, it's so soft and petable and then you open the box and it's pubes That has like comic books and shit inside like there's just some Oh, that's like my my prized weirdo dvds is is Xavier renegade Both seasons of that
[01:02:01] Well, it comes in one like box set, but it's just Two desks above season. Oh, it's great. I I love Xavier Pfr will always hold a special place in my heart not only just wonder shows but like heart she holler with pat nozzewald just shivering truth is
[01:02:17] What I aspire to create that is the one that I have not seen yet and I have god Yeah, it's my favorite I've seen clips on youtube, but it's obviously not going to be the same as as watching it But that sensibility that kind of like really
[01:02:31] Edgy but also having a point Was honed to a mirror shine on on these kinds of sites like adam films was just like A little bit of that but boy It was everywhere on the web for a while
[01:02:43] And I think now we're just catching up in terms of stuff because we talk about smiling friends all the time on this show Smiling friends does has that has has that similar Old internet vibe, but in the new grounds or albino black sheep
[01:02:57] Kind of flash animation way, which is the little brother of all this stuff These other ones had like had money behind it. Whereas the new grounds in albino black sheep was just folks who pirated flash and
[01:03:09] Made insane videos and that's exactly what like like smiling friends really really really gets that Uh because a lot of those guys were those new grounds kids making that shit michael cusack. I think the guys Yeah It's a youtube page
[01:03:25] If you go to it is is fucking amazing because he had like australian man, which is just like a guy who gets drunk at the playground There's one where it's like two like I forget the sling for it
[01:03:38] But it's like the australian word for like a redneck like white trash bogans bogans like yelling at each other at a bus stop and one of them is like Yeah, let me uh, let me get you uh
[01:03:51] You buy you liar there and then the guy was like no I'm not gonna let you buy my lad because you you're not going to give it back and they're like arguing back and forth like No, man. I'm gonna give you back to the liar dude
[01:03:59] I just I want to smoke my ciggy and the guy eventually gives the other dude his lighter And he's like splites up the cigarette And he's like tight and the other dude's like
[01:04:10] Give me back my liar mate and he's like what lie and like they just fucking start screaming at each other It's it's debo and darin ciggy butt brain. Yeah I That's a good name Siggie butt brain at the very end of like fucking y'all
[01:04:28] And one of them and the guy who took the liar or the guy who's offended his friend took the liar Is that giving it back is uh, like, you know, fuck you they're screaming each other at the very end like
[01:04:37] You know, uh, please don't lay it you gotta come by with uh, I have a couple beers like yeah, man I'll be there around five And I've known so many people my life like that like fucking had those those frenemies
[01:04:48] Yeah, where it's like my fucking asshole friend, but he's the only guy I know that likes to watch, you know, fucking baseball Yeah, I mean that's yellow silver destiny Uh, the yellow series on adult swim. He does with just the the girls and everything yellow
[01:05:02] And I even fantasy yellow fantasy Yeah, I tried the crystal fantasy was the first season name and then the second season name was silver destiny And they're gonna do a third season and it's going to be called like gold Okay, fucking name. Yeah, let's go
[01:05:16] Yellow is so fucking good. I tried showing it to some friends who Unfortunately have kind of gotten like really conservative in their sense of humor and I remember showing them a couple episodes. They're like This thing's really misogynistic I guess Australian's yeah
[01:05:39] Yeah, they're sometimes they're fucking weird man They could be wonderful and frightening and strange all at the same time Yeah, the only Australians aside from like random people that just like meet at a bar or something was uh
[01:05:53] This graffiti artist from New Zealand. The only ones I've actually like met in person and everything was like, yeah Like so, uh, how you like in zealot? Oh, I love it. Hapes all the hapes Yeah, like all right. We huffin dots we huffin dots out there
[01:06:10] The family that uh Owns silver ballrooms from Australia. Okay, there's a pinball bar here in st. Louis and I remember Doing a photo shoot there one time and there was like I showed up. He was a young guy He was Australian
[01:06:24] I was talking with the brother of the owner who apparently was like a did music photography in Australia in the early 90s and talk about like almost getting a fight with Billy Bragg or something and
[01:06:36] Like, you know, this is like these crazy stories like yeah, that's a good kid over there He uh, his green card expired. So he just been paying them under the table that you know, keep things neat, you know And I'm like, that's really sweet
[01:06:47] And I like I don't know if there's do anything about each other before this arrangement other than like Yeah, I'm Australian. You're also Australian and um, I'm kind of fucked Yeah, yeah, we got you. Uh, just uh go fill up me super rude brute Yeah
[01:07:02] Oh, was that what he was trying to God, I don't know. He was like doing people's laundry and stuff And I'm like, wow bar life is always weird and then you start doing things about legality of people's bodies in certain countries
[01:07:14] Yeah, it gets a little bit weirder. Yeah, I think also the story is like 13 years old So I don't think it's legally applicable to anything. I was gonna say do you need me to bleep some people's names? Maybe But yeah, you can you bleep my name?
[01:07:30] Beep beep beep. That's what we're gonna call you You see q-sax kind of Uh, straight lace a hulu sitcom that he got uh with Justin Morolian's whole thing before he kind of melted under his own bullshit too
[01:07:45] What was that called koala man? I've heard of it, but I've never seen it. It's not bad. It's more standard You know as a as a sick as a 30 minute sitcom or whatever But it is still very Australian in its way and it's not bad
[01:07:59] It's probably not gonna get it hasn't been picked up for a second season or something like the first one was 2021 I think but I didn't hate it and this was uh, and then by the time smiling friends, you know popped off
[01:08:10] I think he just was like fuck it. Well. Yeah, I mean there's really Oh, you know the only reason I heard of it was because somebody that I follow on the internet demi larder
[01:08:19] Lartner, uh, it was was a voice on it. That's that's where I first heard of it Doesn't look like it's getting another Season but but they did get a Hugh Jackman to to be a series regular on that first season and Sarah snook
[01:08:32] Yeah, yeah germane clement. It's a very uh, australian show in its own way about a guy who's a stupid superhero named koala man Oh, yeah, he'd go weaving to show. Yeah I think the thing I read about
[01:08:43] Justin Roiland's participation in that show was that he was such a huge pain in the ass that like they pulled off his character Like they wanted to make him like a semi regularly
[01:08:53] They wanted to bring that character back, but he was such a huge pain in the ass to deal with for just one episode I don't even think he's in all that much that there was this like, you know what?
[01:09:02] Fuck it. He died in a car accident or something Yeah, like yeah at the end of the episode that he voices a character and like he just gets fucking hit by a car And so they poochied him like yeah, they poochied him real bad
[01:09:15] Like he wasn't like a good character and he was just an asshole Like you had to deal with for the episode and then he died the end that sounds appropriate
[01:09:23] I feel that that's a perfect way to do that. Yeah, it was kind of a jackass. So yeah, we just kind of speaking of Things that it would be cool if I got another season have either of you
[01:09:33] I guess we're kind of preempting the breathment here a little bit But have either one of you watched a bird girl. No Yeah, I have not but but in case you have so yeah, I liked it I I love the original Harvey Birdman series
[01:09:47] It is such a it is such a weird and different way of Like the guys who created it And wrote it Their names escape me right now, but they still like I think they work in like management positions at adult swim now
[01:10:00] Or cartoon network in general had such an interesting way of of doing the show such a quick and snappy way That it was fun to see them come back to it again like with the Harvey Birdman special Yeah, yeah
[01:10:12] And and essentially with bird girl, which is just like you know a different series in the same universe Michael and Eric Richter by the way, that's just for for the yeah Yeah, Michael. Ulien is like
[01:10:25] Is is like a higher up down and like cartoon now we're gonna adult swim, which is great but probably doesn't leave him a lot of time to Make anymore because I don't think I think bird girl only got the two seasons and it's over and man
[01:10:37] What what a good two seasons just a lot of really fucking Snappy jokes really good acing um I was really bummed to hear that it wasn't getting picked up for a third uh season because I thought it was apparently part of What made it so hard to
[01:10:53] Produce was that ha barbera or cartoon network Through ha barbera was really touchy about what they used from Like ha barbera and space ghosts because they were going to do like a straight laced Not funny space ghost reboot. Yuck. Never happened. Yeah. Yeah. That's that's why Judy's father
[01:11:14] Kevin Phil Ken seven. Yeah, who was voiced by Stephen Colbert Is vaguely featured as the like I think the biggest thread to the original series that they could do Because harvey burman's not mentioned at all. No
[01:11:28] Oh because gary cole's busy. He's got another thing going so in the universe of uh, Of bird girl, uh, phil is dead quote unquote. He's been dead before though. So yeah
[01:11:40] True. Yeah, like he could he could come back but like in the universe. They're just like yeah, he died and now it's in G's hands It's very surreal and vulgar and the thing I've I've seen people complain about people whose opinions
[01:11:53] I don't take seriously like oh, it's too woke and you can tell there's like it's very woman centric I'm like yes, but it's vulgar. There's a joke about queen Yeah, like who gives this shit is still funny There's a character who's like an old surly man
[01:12:08] But he's like a basset howl wearing a bucket hat and the character's name is literally dog with bucket hat I love that character. He's so good I love like there was an episode where he was just like well, that's it
[01:12:20] And he was about to fucking just jump out of a car moving car just be like killing myself There's one where he becomes like a he strips In the second season he's like a strip club in like the middle of nowhere
[01:12:31] They're just yeah, they're just like they say woke because There's women in the character. Like who gives a shit. It's fucking funny quit being pussy Her assistant the absurdity that character goes through the one episode where Judy says she wants like the freshest cup of tea
[01:12:47] Oh, yeah, something like that and and and so her assistant goes like japan And like learns the way of like growing like I don't know like yikiro like first flush like high quality tea Like has a child with a japanese man
[01:13:01] And then like bruise the tea and hops out bullet train and goes back to america She comes back in I think it's like, oh where'd you been? Oh
[01:13:09] I think uh, I think they did a lot of cool stuff with that. It's a shame that didn't get a third season But war brothers also seems like they don't know what they're doing shooting themselves in the foot constantly
[01:13:18] Yeah, I mean the cast alone on that rob delaney Tony hail Oh rob delaney's character was great character named brian. Yeah Yeah, I think animation is in a weird place right now adam conover And the animation guild did a did a whole video
[01:13:36] This week about like animation unions are are going to be a thing and and we're going to support this This is kind of where it's headed because water brothers
[01:13:44] Like you mentioned with them fumbling the bag on bird girl and various other things. Yeah, they're shit in the bed Coyote versus akmi. They shelved What is reportedly a very funny very good movie? John Cena pork John Cena will forte
[01:14:00] Just a a roax gallery of really funny people And they said no, we don't think this is going to make any money Well, you don't know that and so you put the fucking movie out. Do you? Yeah, it feels like it's less of a of a thought process
[01:14:13] In in any way than then just I don't think it's going to make any money because they have all the like the The things that say like it's tested well
[01:14:19] It's rated well and all this shit like this. It just seems like it's it's a line on a fucking A google spreadsheet that he goes get rid of that get rid of that keep that get rid of that, you know
[01:14:31] Yeah, that it is worse because it feels so fucking heartless and and and artless to be quite honest And like, you know all the shit they've shelved Beyond like cowdy versus akmi Sucks but like also the the bat girl movie that was also as done equally as done
[01:14:46] Well, yeah, because printed fraser apparently did a bang-up job in that movie and like we'll never know I guess And all the things they just took off of max like close enough. I loved close enough But the the the jg quintile show
[01:15:01] And and others and it's just like finity train. I mean you need finity train It's so Heartless that it is just like fucking lines on a graph for for fucking zazz laugh and whoever else is saying
[01:15:13] Yeah, let's do that do this and it's the work of like really intensely passionate creative people I think is the worst of it if it was a i slop. I wouldn't feel so bad You know, yeah
[01:15:24] Yeah, have them have them do the ai movie like I said and then whoever's gonna put it out is just like And then just fucking writes off the whole thing I would shrug my shoulders much more at that than I would at something that's clearly a passion project
[01:15:36] You know what I mean? Like it feels yeah May to be very funny if it just got the same fucking treatment Well, hopefully hopefully that's gonna be the case. Here's here's hoping folks. Well about that time to go gross, baby Yeah Yay
[01:15:50] And now the moment you've all been waiting for shock dot gpg Time for vulgarity everyone It's our favorite thing. It's shock.jpg everybody So this one's called typical macintosh user
[01:16:05] So I didn't want to personally offend you because uh, I realized oh shit. He said he was on a mac Hey, you can't hurt me. I'm on a mac You'll never hurt me and now i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm gonna sip my my beer and hit enter
[01:16:20] Typical mac macintosh user comes to us from consumption junction. Wow the old website And well that's a whole episode of it of itself. Isn't that consumption junction? It's looks like a man being a well it's still loading don't oh there it goes
[01:16:36] There he is never was like a man at desk like we're gonna a gen three. Yeah Uh keyboard there I have one of those very very good tactile feeling there But he's not going to be understanding how the great key flow
[01:16:51] On that on that gen three keyboard on that g3 keyboard because the man looks like he is uh, Wolfing down a a sizable piece of feces that looks like a about the diameter of a chipotle burrito
[01:17:08] Yeah, only half is spicy. It looks like a chocolate covered sausage. Yeah So apparently after looking up some info about the the history of this image It is in fact a a rubber sex toy covered in feces not a
[01:17:24] That makes it so different. But there is a cake dish on the the table next to the pie dish. Yeah, the ceramic pie dish there So fake fake man real feces Is that what you're saying to me? It's a coating. It's like the uh
[01:17:40] Frosting which part is the sex toy the bit that he's got his mouth on. Oh, so it's a dildo covered in shit. Yes Exactly like if it weren't if it weren't obvious That's it
[01:17:53] Okay, I mean it just looks like a like a meaty turd. Yeah because the pie dish next to him is filled with other meaty turds So you kind of make that connection. He's also this elder scroll scrolls cosplay is making me uncomfortable
[01:18:06] How do we know this is a macintosh? You see the g3 and in the back there? Oh, is that what that is? Yeah, I have I have one of those in my mom's basement
[01:18:14] I never had one of those things so I didn't also the keyboard the keyboards one of the old g3 keyboards Uh, all right. All right. Hey, look that's gonna get all I agree now. He's a typical macintosh. You see
[01:18:26] At least at the time when this photo was taken which I'm guessing is like early 2000s because that's before they did the intel switch He doesn't even look like he likes it. No, but he's also covered in doodoo and apparently jacking it so
[01:18:39] In naked. He's naked. Yeah. I mean yeah, okay. I could see yeah. He's holding his wiener He's also got a pack of cigarettes, right for later for later and a lighter right next to the the pite's hidden
[01:18:50] Doodoo's do you think shit has a different quality if you like light it on fire? Kind of like if you like get a like a caramelize a liqueur Yeah, if you get a liqueur, it's a little bit. You know, you just light it on fire blow it out
[01:19:02] Does something to I guess I would never want to try it, but I guess What do you think some of that's cd pile on the other side down there? 311's 311
[01:19:14] Red hot chili pepper is californication. Whatever awful games you could play on mac back then dress a park trespasser Might magic yeah Quake three is yeah, I think quake three is on mac. Yeah it was yeah. Yeah. Um, let's see probably uh, Unreal 2004
[01:19:36] That was the only game I played on my g3 and it was pretty awesome actually in the year 2024 This compressed small image of a man licking shit off his dildo. I guess sucking shit off his dildo
[01:19:48] Doesn't seem as gross. I know it says shock.jpg, but man. Oh man. I don't know. I've seen worse That's the thing is like time has not been kind to some of these things like we had one last week mud monster
[01:19:59] That was another one with a guy covered in doodoo Can I can I see that one? Well that one was a bit of a that was the one where I had to include the warning about sound because it includes a blaring
[01:20:14] It includes a blaring bit of music from Orgasmo the now you're a man song. That's just a good song. That's not the bad. No, it's great. It's dvda Let's see here. It just looks like he's having a good time. Yeah. Yeah
[01:20:28] I don't hear now. I don't hear now. You're a man. I guess but I can I can picture it in my head and I'm like Yeah, all right my buddy from college is a pervert just started making the youtube of porn He's finally taking free uses. Yep
[01:20:42] Those ads were everywhere you couldn't escape them for a while My buddy my buddy is uh create the youtube of boys a crazy pervert Yeah, and he found a way to hack into the uh the government and giving everyone free dishwasher detergent
[01:20:59] It doesn't really look like shit. It just looks like mud I think there was an original version where it was like green and somebody recolored it That was another bit of lore that I think I forgot to bring on
[01:21:11] So there's like two versions of it. I don't know blood monster is very weird. Cool. Yeah All right, really I really am desensitized to a lot of this show Yeah, well, there was that utility limb Tweet a couple days ago about you know before all these posting styles
[01:21:26] We just all gather around look at a picture of a guy's butthole or something It really was like that 20 years ago like gather warmth children rather I have a friend high school that had his shirt and just said goat c.cx
[01:21:41] Classic and uh, he got in trouble because the teachers saw his shirt and like realized that was a url And then went to it. Yeah, that's where I have there with like white house.com. That's not That's not his fault that your friends. That's the teacher's right. Absolutely
[01:21:57] And they're just they're just getting mad at him for no reason Well, and you also as part of the the me and you series on patreon did a comic just just came out today
[01:22:08] About teaching your kids about the old internet ways and the guy's taking his son to go see rotten.com Yeah, I just I was getting out of a A longer thread of like a foused parody and just being like
[01:22:24] They'll make have a kid who doesn't give a shit just watch like the fucking five fingers family or Elsa dentists, which are like the weird shock videos I guess for kids now that aren't really shocked but are just as
[01:22:35] Grotesque and weird. Yeah in like ways. We just won't understand until they grow older and fucking weirder Most of the kids, you know, and yeah, just had the dad just be like, oh, yeah Get a little of this
[01:22:47] I love the the detail that you put in there about that the old family computer that you had a hand crank Yeah, perfect just a big old guy you see I put bud Dwyer and the and the Abu Ghra Lady. Yep. Those are there's a pretty tame
[01:23:03] Images, but they but they do proceed awful funny and awful things By the way for our listeners if you're not familiar Casey Green does a wonderful patreon where you can get some of these comics including me and you and some other wonderfulness They're patreon.com slash kc gr
[01:23:22] Double in is that right one in I didn't need to put two ends on this one not this time. No one took it. Okay But maybe I should have done it for the sake of branding
[01:23:32] Okay, so I don't know my shit's my shit's fucked these days. So patreon.com slash kc. Great boy Me and you has been such a hoot to follow. I really appreciate just like thank you It's a wonderful peek into
[01:23:44] Like like they said in the old rap song journey with me into the mind of a maniac. That's that's I it is it is just a it's a improvisational
[01:23:55] A comic that I do about a cat chasing a mouse and I uh, I take that liberally in in lots of different ways No, I think when it comes to stuff that's just like, yeah, this is what I'm doing right now
[01:24:07] And I'm just gonna do it and boy that's that's admirable Because uh, I feel like this show is us doing that but you don't have to get too into it
[01:24:15] But like just the ideas of web comics have changed that it is kind of interesting that I can just do this I guess and what what am I going to do at the end of it? I don't fucking know. Well, yeah, I mean book Maybe who knows maybe
[01:24:28] At this point in my career as a cartoonist there's a part of me that's like I don't want to the archival part of my work is not something i'm interested in but I do want to show people what i'm capable Oh, sure. You know
[01:24:41] Well, I mean that's perfect then if that's all you want then yeah, patreon's your your way to go Well, not everyone looks at patreon, but everyone looks at books online on that stores and shit like that
[01:24:52] That's true. Uh, we were talking we had kthor jensen on last week and I was talking with him about how like So you do create a thing like you do web comics you make music you
[01:25:03] Great art in some way or even writing. Yeah, it used to be like, okay You spend an hour on your craft and you have to spend 15 20 minutes promoting it now it feels like you spend an hour in your craft
[01:25:15] You have to spend like three hours promoting it like the labor And just telling people exists are trying to get the algorithm To recognize it or boost it like yeah, it's it's frustrating. I don't uh I don't know how you fix it. I don't either
[01:25:31] Like the only thing I can think like patreon's fun But it's it there's still a bar to be like well You have to be a member or give me money to enjoy most of that content
[01:25:41] And I am trying to like remake a website that is just like a dumping ground of comics That is simply just on my site kind of like gun what gun show was back in the day But even then that's not going to fix it
[01:25:53] That's just going to give people a easier way to see the thing But that you're not going to get people always to click the link you show up with And that's The aristocrats. Yeah, I don't fucking know what the answer is
[01:26:11] Try not to fucking cry too much and keep drawing Well that said I think it's time for the breath mitt Brian what do you think? It's time for your mom's favorite part of the show it's time for the breath of it
[01:26:30] Well, you know we like to counter these dark thoughts with some lightness and all that stuff So yeah, it's it's it's time for the part of the show. We like to call the breath mitt It's uh
[01:26:38] As you know, you've been on the show before it's a piece where we talk about stuff that's interested us books Comics video games what have you I do want to say before before we get to the meat of this
[01:26:47] That you recommended something when you were first on the show It's about a year ago and you recommended dungeon menchi the comic Now delicious in dungeon is the weeaboo way of calling it. I know and so I showed it to my kids and they to
[01:27:06] Really badly they ate it up They They loved it. I loved it too. It was really like Dan case he was onto something I felt bad for not getting it sooner that fucking netflix show came out, baby. Yeah. Yeah, and boy. What a what a great adaptation
[01:27:21] So with that in mind, what do you have? This time around for me to get obsessed with a year later Well, I mean delicious in dungeon is almost over and uh, there's one volume left Yeah, that's what I heard, um, but volume 13 if you hadn't read it is
[01:27:39] probably the One of the best like it has one of the best short stories I've I've ever read okay in a thing and like it's only because of all the all the story and the stuff that's happened up there
[01:27:51] But it's the story of the lion and if you know, you know, okay It's it's like I don't want to give away any further sure But to give you something new I don't think you can show your kids this unless they're older and cool enough
[01:28:03] But have you heard of this show called the sopranos? Oh, yeah, we love it I'm very late to the game But I have been watching it and I'm in the middle of season four when all that shit happened
[01:28:15] And man, oh man, what a fucking amazing show. Oh, brian was also late to the game Yeah, I like last year my girlfriend. I started watching it late summer last year early fall
[01:28:28] And we got to the sixth season and she's like no, it's a cold weather show. We have to stop watching it so No, no, you're she not wrong. She's not wrong. She's not wrong. I like that
[01:28:39] But uh, but I've I've really been thoroughly enjoyed it. What a fucking show what trailblazer was so many great characters So many great performances big pussy. Yeah, yeah that episode where he dies is still I think
[01:28:52] What performance it just they did some ballsy shit having Tony soprano have his surreal dream Oh, yeah, where he's talking to the the dead fish big pussy. He's like, you know, you know 15 bucks a pound
[01:29:04] We're like, they shouldn't have to shouldn't hit like a bag of hammers, but it does I love the like those are great and like some of the weirder dream sequences that you get for like half a second About the guys in big pussy and stuff is so like
[01:29:18] Frightening in a weird way, especially because you don't get to linger on it. You just see like sylvio Have his fucking weird dream of pussy in the mousetrap or whatever, you know In somewhat time in season four, I believe they're just like rethinking about him
[01:29:30] Or there's a moment where somebody's like a mirror moves and you see big pussy for like a split second Yeah, but the way they play with like expectation too There's a part the the arc where tony gets with the mursadies dealer character a gloria trillo
[01:29:49] And then she turns up being just like his mom and they have a huge fucking knockdown whatever And then he sends pat see to send like the message to underline it Uh to her and like a in like a really creepy scene where he's like a
[01:30:03] You know, uh, he's trying it out test driving it out And then just basically says like don't do anything you leave tony alone because you know next time you see me It won't that'll be it. It won't be cinematic Oh, yeah And then he walks away
[01:30:16] And then it has that ending hit that line. It won't be cinematic It has like has stayed with me and I feel like the show really Makes a meal out of that that that expectation of something happening like at the end of that episode where patsey does this
[01:30:32] The very last scene is him Getting into his car talking to his wife about picking up this and that He just gets into his car. He drives away and we watch his car drive away drive away
[01:30:43] Then immediately just like jump scare credits. Yeah, you know like nothing happens because that's like That's the part where you're like it's not going to be cinematic And then everything since like everything that's happened in season four I still think about that line from from patsey and everything
[01:31:00] Who's the new york guy that he's going up against in season four because I I want to say it was richie upreel But I think i'm wrong in that Ralphie is a ralfie He just You guys have seen me right? Yeah, okay folks folks
[01:31:16] Cover your ear muffs. He just killed ralf. Oh uh, uh like that whole episode of like Uh junior getting hit in the head with a boom and falling down the kid with the arrow
[01:31:27] Yeah, ralfie fucking like like losing his shit and then the ambiguity of if he actually If ralfie actually set the horse barn on fire and everything Everything happens in that one episode. Yeah, and it's so like amazing I love the big reveal that his hair was a wig
[01:31:47] That was so funny That was like the last thing I expected to see was chris he fucking grabbed his head It won't be cinematic at the so it's so fucking good I know i'm really late to the sopranos game, but I've been watching I've been
[01:32:06] Watching it like one a day. Yeah at the very least and I've been really fucking I've been in hog heaven the funniest part to me is that joey pantelion joey pants who plays
[01:32:16] Ralphie in that actually did wear a wig during their production of the show because that's not his real hair I think that dude's been bald since like I had no idea to be quite honest. That was a that was a really funny like like moment
[01:32:31] Aside from his manner of speaking it's almost hard to believe that's joey pants Yeah, because I mean cipher in the matrix The the bad boy's friend bound like he's been in fucking a million things But boy, yeah Ralphie the episode where We're Ralphie killed or is he?
[01:32:53] No, he is like the episode where he killed the the the one of the Yeah, tracy from the bar that the god that that was rough because I I think I think what really the the subject matter the heartlessness of the show or the episode also
[01:33:11] silvio is like out of character that whole entire episode like It's being such a Malignant asshole and a prick to everyone and then he's never really liked that the rest of the series He's hard to read silvia. Polly's just getting worse
[01:33:28] I think polly's decline is my favorite part of the show Yeah, that's that's also happening in all of season four. He's just like man, I like I know it's I know It's gonna come and I'm just waiting for I thought it was gonna be that episode
[01:33:41] Well when he he gets the painting of tony On the horse who's a it's a fine fucking painting. What do you do? And then he's like he can't see tony on this horse anymore
[01:33:53] It's driving him insane and so he hires the guy to turn it into nepollion or some sort of general. Yeah It's like, all right, man Cool. Yeah, polly's getting wacky with it The season four I can't wait for the rest It's it's so good, man
[01:34:09] To give you any to give you something else to chew to chew on Comic wise if you don't mind me double. Oh please. I am rereading But I have it physically finally
[01:34:19] The drifting classroom from kazuo umez a three-volume tome of a work about a classroom in japan that is whisked away for unknown reasons To the future to be a distant future or everything is fucking sand and gone
[01:34:36] And now all the kids of this elementary school and all the adults of this elementary school the teachers and shit Are just it's suddenly you're just like you're dealing with these people's fucking
[01:34:47] Problems as they have to come to terms with this and some of them go insane and some of them don't and also there are monsters And sometimes not it's really wild and weird, but it's it's one of those stories that it's like it just sort of like
[01:35:00] Okay, well what would happen? What if this guy goes insane and starts killing like Kids and other people and being like i'm gonna live forever and we're gonna wait for someone to save me So i'm just gonna I have a gun now
[01:35:12] So fuck you all you children trying to stop me and the kids trying to fucking fight back and like They're elementary kids who have were just trying like growing up too quick while dealing with this insane thing and like the way The artist the mangaka the cartoonist mangaka
[01:35:33] The way the way I know I know, but it's just he's a cartoonist the kazuo umez the way he does Faces and and action and stuff like that is so like So is so of his of its time
[01:35:49] I can't think of anything out like drifting classroom is probably his biggest one, but he also did like cat-eye boy cat cat-eye cat-eye boy and uh Orochi and and a bunch of others but drifting classroom. I read all
[01:36:03] Uh digitally and I loved it and I was like I want to read this again But I have to buy it because that's how much like I fucking pay it like I love this story
[01:36:13] I had to do the same thing with uzumaki when when I got the hardcover Of that genjiida book. I was like, yeah, I gotta get this this is I've read this online But this is there's no comparison these tomes are very big the the physical book
[01:36:29] It's a long one too. Like each one is like 700 some odd pages of fucking comics But I like get it digitally and enjoy get it however you can and enjoy it because it's it's one of my favorite like horror mangas that is just like
[01:36:45] Uh normal kids in an awful scenario and just like well, how would they deal with it? They deal with it a little it go a little something like this You know
[01:36:54] And you're and you're just deal and you're just watching them deal with it in their own weird way Because I've seen a trailer for a film adaptation I haven't seen the film adaptation yet. I can't say much for the adaptation or anything or any other adaptations
[01:37:08] But I gotta tell you the the manga. Oh, sure. Yeah, I mean most of the time if I Because I did the same thing with chain summon I saw the the t-beesh series and I was like, okay
[01:37:16] I got to see what this is actually about and I got caught up right as an awkward hand job happens So that was fun Such a good one such a good bit Oh, so funny
[01:37:28] It's fun to go back to chainsaw man after like not reading some chapters and you're still like that fuji mod is still fucking got it man So drifting classroom and the sopranos. Those are my that's my breath. All right, brian. What do you got?
[01:37:40] I got two for y'all. All right First one. Uh, we were talking a little bit about this before we start recording me in uh, mr. Green Shows of the earth tree the dlc for uh, let's go fucking elden ring
[01:37:55] I've had quite a bit of fun with this. Um to get everyone up to speed kc included my girlfriend had surgery early this month and We had guests in the house for 17 days straight and
[01:38:12] First individual was her mom and then her friend from back home my girlfriend's friend from back home and He brought a steam deck with him and he was playing elden ring and he was like, yeah I'm just you know, I'm just tying up all the loose ends before
[01:38:26] The dlc comes out and then I started playing elden ring again And I'm like, fuck it. I guess I'll play the dlc when it comes out I uh, I got it last night my girlfriend's gone back to work. She was working at night shift
[01:38:37] She's the first responder not a cop Just a first responder will leave it at that and I was like, wow, this is the First time I've had this house to myself In the evening since we've moved in wow
[01:38:50] And I was like, I'm not doing anything that does not spark joy. Hell yeah So I'm gonna play a video game and hang out with the animals Dick out That's hugged out Drink and drink of my my na beer Eat ice cream forcibly removed from the living room
[01:39:09] But uh, it is um incredibly fucking hard I want to say for about first 30 to 45 minutes You really kind of have to follow the narrative they set up for you before you go to the first dungeon
[01:39:24] And but sounds like kc that you went to a completely different direction than me Because you're talking about stuff. I have no clue about I kind of veered off to the left and Took out like the first mandatory dungeon Of the dlc
[01:39:40] Which one which one is that one just so we're on the same page? Let me look up the boss Was it a castle or was it a lion? Oh, okay. I know where you're at It is the that is the boss of
[01:39:56] You're at bell. You're at the legacy dungeon. Yeah, I finished that Yeah, and that's been fun And then I just started exploring and running around and yeah lots of beat your ass and mercilessly But I think part of how to play that dlc that some people aren't
[01:40:16] Really registering is you can run away. You can just run through shit Yeah, like after watching a couple speed runs of elden ring Just realizing like how much grace time you have to just run the fuck through stuff
[01:40:29] So you don't have to keep killing the same 20 enemies over and over again To then die at the tough enemy before the uh ladder that you need to go on to then get to the next side of grace Like you can just run there
[01:40:40] It might take a couple hits, but like you can like run there and not have any mobs follow you I played elden ring a lot when when it first came out during the pandemic and all that stuff
[01:40:50] But I kind of I kind of played the shit out of it And when I say that it's like I play it's I played it so much that I almost don't want to touch it again Yeah, and I never really finished it. I got to like
[01:41:01] Uh the last Three set of bosses, you know Uh, I forget their names, but like the two guys you fight before the elden beast
[01:41:09] So and then I put it down and was like this this is hard. I can't like I can't bring myself to keep playing this game But the more uh, I heard about the dlc and the more I was like
[01:41:20] Maybe I should pick it back up. I restarted a character I told myself don't worry about getting good like in a gaming in a gamer's sense because that's fucking boring
[01:41:31] And that's the reason why I hit the wall that I hit in the original in my original playthrough of elden ring Plus the more I talk to people about it around my town
[01:41:40] People who maybe never played dark souls or bloodbord or any of those other ones are like, yeah, I'm on my second playthrough of elden ring Oh, yeah Just regular fucking dudes and I'm like I'm I'm taking this too seriously
[01:41:51] You know, so I like my this new character that I have now I just like I'm gonna go places. I never went to I'm gonna think smarter not harder I'm gonna use my ashes all the fucking time. I'm gonna find one. I like and just use him only
[01:42:05] Who's your favorite banished knight ingval? Yeah, that is a good one He's a he's a tough guy and his name kind of reminds me of ingval bill ingval. So I call there's your side yeah
[01:42:16] There's your sand as he fucking just hits them with his halberds or the mimic tear which Mimic tears just just opa like it's just you so it's like a perfect if I can I can cut through a boss and double the time with my with my sorcery
[01:42:30] Which which is what I leaned into more this way. Well, and honestly sorcery for all the dark souls games has always been kind of a Yeah, really nice crutch to lean on if you ever find yourself in trouble
[01:42:41] Because that's when I went back last year. I went back through all the original dark souls games I went one one two three did all the dlcs did all the good stuff And I was like, okay
[01:42:51] Well this time around I'm actually going to dig into the sorceries and especially dark souls 2 of hexes and all that like I was like, okay. I'm having a much better time. I'm having really enjoying my playthrough this time
[01:43:02] Yeah, if you're trying to sword and board your way through some of these you're going to have a real A real tough time of of it, but boy They feel that's exactly what I did with my first couple characters
[01:43:12] I sword and barded it and didn't do like I never touched the physics for whatever reason It's like that thing is just nice. That's how yeah, man
[01:43:20] I rarely touched the ashes unless it was like I liked getting the jellyfish early, but she's she's not perfect unless it's for the The story at the end. Yeah, right Like this time I like and just tried to enjoy myself
[01:43:34] And I actually really I like I fell back in love with the game and I really enjoyed my time The dlc is is great. I found basically I found the jail underneath bel-yuret town
[01:43:45] Okay, but I have been sort of like, you know getting to places being like nope. He kills me pretty quickly Uh, I'm just gonna I'm gonna fuck off and do something else. I'm taking my time with it
[01:43:55] Methodically going through it at going through every area getting what I can and that's how I played elder bring the first time around because I was Okay, this is they're obviously doing something different. This is an open world version
[01:44:06] You're not locked into progression if you don't go this way or that way So I'm just gonna get on tour it and just fuck around for a while Yeah, and that's always that was always an issue with me with older from soft games
[01:44:16] Is I would I would find what I would call the wall that would always be like a really tough part That's like this is the part where you have to like Uh gas going and blood he's he's a wall for a lot of people
[01:44:29] You had to get good to some degree. Definitely a skill check But boy, I went back through bloodborne as well as I found the dlc for cheap and I was like, okay Well, let's let's see what this is about and no matter how
[01:44:42] No matter how good you are at the bloodborne main game The dlc will pound you into the dirt and so I was like, okay And people were telling me about shadows of the earth tree that it's very much
[01:44:53] That same thing but for elden ring like okay, maybe I need to wait a little bit A lot of the dlcs that they've done like I was there when the bloodborne one dropped I was there when dark souls 3 dlc dropped. They've all just been tough
[01:45:05] They've always been very they've just been like a tougher thing. Let's all hunters and bloodborne The ring city has so many new and for dark souls 3 has so many new little surprises the way elden ring does
[01:45:17] But because it's more linear of a game dark souls 3 you're kind of forced into to figure out how to get around demons as one time You yeah That part in dark souls 3 really I rage quit somebody said that you know dark eater midair
[01:45:35] That was a whole that was a whole thing. That's the other part of is you lean more into Summoning and stuff like that, which is why like the spirit ashes are so cool
[01:45:44] Because if you get them right like my guy bill my guy bill he can he can tank it like the best of them That's awesome. Well, I just sit around and just cast fucking comment from far away
[01:45:54] Hey, it's in the game or lightning. Yeah, it's in the game. You can use it. Absolutely Um, I've found it to be just like a lot of fun. I love The old school challenge. I love the mystery the exploration. That's why I loved about bloodborne and
[01:46:09] I remember when elden ring got announced. I'm like, do I really need to revisit this and then my ex Her friend was really into it and she was telling me about it. I'm like
[01:46:22] Oh, okay. Yes. I definitely need to mainline this and so I got elden ring and I was like, oh, okay Yeah, I'm just going to hermit up for a couple months and this is just gonna be my main thing when I'm bored and
[01:46:34] Uh, why moved into my uh, my apartment that was in for a couple years I didn't have a couch and all I had I was living I was living the fucking meme. Do you remember this jason? Because you came over to my apartment one time
[01:46:48] One time in the early days I had a lounge chair that has been in my family since like the 50s That my great-grandmother reupholstered with like this like weird orange and red pattern And it's surprisingly comfy for what it is. I didn't have a couch
[01:47:08] And I didn't have a tv but I had an entertainment center And I just remember I'd come home from work I'd crack open a beer and I'd sit on that chair And I my friend let me borrow their hd projector
[01:47:22] And I would just play the hd projector on the wall Above the entertainment center and I'm like, this is the happiest I've been in years I literally was living the meme of like men will live like this and see nothing wrong with it. Yeah, don't bother me
[01:47:37] I'm gaming please. I'm gaming and uh And I was like, man, this I am living the dream and I understand like the happiness that comes with that simple You know that shit would get posted and people would be like actually I lived like this for like three years
[01:47:52] Oh, I like got out of college and this was like the happiest time of my life I get it. I understand it But to take it to a completely different sector My girlfriend has a couple vices like we all do when it comes to entertainment
[01:48:06] And one of hers is teen mom shows. Oh, no And uh-oh they're running out of those they're running out of those teen moms Yeah, well now now it's gotten to the point
[01:48:16] I suppose right now they have to like follow these women and these couples like into young adulthood because some My girlfriend knows this shit like some people know like game of thrones mythology It's like, oh, yes, you know, oh, they actually you know, they actually got married
[01:48:34] IRL, you know like a couple months after this season wrapped and oh this person they're really smart because they uh, they only had one kid and found a good way to like market themselves Because some unfortunately some people that have been on these shows have like found it
[01:48:51] Like that's found it like the best way to stay on tv is just keep having more kids Yeah, which there's some weird stuff that goes along with that but her thing has been uh Let me know that hey on discovery plus. There's another episode of unexpected Oh, no
[01:49:08] I don't know if you've ever watched one of these shows But if you've ever Worked a job when you're like your late teens early 20s and there was That guy Yeah Like I have a lot empathy for the young women on these shows
[01:49:25] I have zero empathy for these young men Where it's like, yeah, you need to go find a job asshole. You look at what you fucking did Yeah, like like you think you think racing dirt bikes gonna um put that can diapers
[01:49:37] You put that evil inside her you gotta take her Yeah, you gotta nurture that evil into something beautiful. I hate to say that it's weaponized shown Freud Oh, no, but absolutely Yeah, I have a friend who tells me about the
[01:49:51] Some of the ones that he loves watching on like netflix and stuff because he loves picking out like the fucking Malapropisms and corporate speak these fucking like non-entities Have to have to like say or whatever and like I love I love the work
[01:50:07] He does through that but man, I don't think I could ever watch these shows without just getting complete like even more depressed than I was yeah, I was um working on Stuff in the house during one day of her recovery and when her mom was still in town
[01:50:22] And we end up like watching a whole entire season the earlier season of the show And it really felt like I had just been on a treadmill with like a weight vest on And just barely like I'm like, oh wow that was a whole season
[01:50:37] Like that's a lot of of feelings about About people like and things and stuff and but then there's also like a couple like a couple people in the current season They're incredibly extra and weird and awful and I hope they figure their shit out
[01:50:52] And then there's like one young lady who kind of has her shit figured out but her dad's also like a crazy three percenter ex marine who and She got away from her baby daddy who seemed like a real piece of shit So good for her
[01:51:07] But then she moves to myrtle beach where all mistakes get fixed And she starts living with this guy named jj Who just seems like a deer in the headlights? Apparently jj comes from some money and the young lady that we're following here
[01:51:23] Comes from a vaguely middle class upbringing from what I can tell The young man's mother is kaya. Just like I want this this girl and her kid near my son And like the nicest rich white lady way possible. Yeah
[01:51:37] I think I think some of these these notions are changing But who is to say who is to say but holy crap is Is something to watch? I don't know if I would be consuming this if my girlfriend had not been recovering from a surgery
[01:51:55] For a couple weeks, but wow. Yeah, I mean the closest that stuff something like that I watched recently was the quiet on the set. Oh, documentary on netflix about like the kids in Around the yeah the latter half of like all that and all the nicolodian bullshit
[01:52:12] Basically, Amanda binds got victimized the series. Yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah That was rough and like after I watched or like put on all four episodes and was playing like, you know Pick cross the whole time I was just like
[01:52:26] I don't feel nicer better or any I feel like almost worse as a person for having listened and understood all that stuff Yeah, I don't know like my heart goes out to fucking all those kids and all that those assholes
[01:52:38] And fucking what was that guy's name? Dan Snyder. Dan Snyder the fucking dickhead My heart goes out to all the kids But it's it's it's also like this sucks this sucks to know this just sucks straight up to know
[01:52:51] Just makes me a sadder man. I had very similar feelings and so did my girlfriend. She said something That really struck a chord with me. I think it was after like the third fourth episode She's like, you know, we all like because
[01:53:06] She's a little bit younger than me, but she's she so she watched the Amanda bind show I believe I watched all that and things like that What was the weird comic book show Ka-Blamo or something? I think that was it. Yeah Ka-Blam was like the animated one
[01:53:21] That had like, oh, yeah, yeah Henry and Jen. Oh fuck. That was such a Weird amazing show for me some Bob. Yeah, but I just remember that was like a one-two punch like on snick was like all that And Ka-Blam and like maybe one other show
[01:53:34] So like I remember watching it But my girlfriend she put it was like well we both of us I mean a lot of people in our age we watched these shows and we were cognizant of them Perhaps we have we should watch this documentary
[01:53:47] The bear witness to that suffering that took the create this thing that we thought was just kind of weird and offbeat when we were younger No No because a lot of the worst of this shit
[01:54:05] It was after that era of all that and all that stuff like the Amanda bind show and onwards That was like I didn't really I was I was moving on up into like I'm on Cartoon Network now watching Dexter's lab and Kyle and chicken
[01:54:21] I don't care about Drake and Josh You know that was like that's just that's just a younger Like a younger audience knows of like the second version of all that Drake and Josh and Amanda binds and all the and all the rest of that
[01:54:33] I know Amanda binds obviously but But like the rest of that was just a little bit after my thing So I'm this feels this feels almost like secondhand stuff. Yeah, like Keenan cal didn't get hurt Okay, who are the rest of these people?
[01:54:48] Because I had that same problem because I grew up a little bit earlier And so for me Nickelodeon was like legends of the hidden temple or like uh double dare and like as far as I know
[01:54:59] No kids got hurt on those shows except for maybe getting slimed when they weren't expecting it But shorter than you know, you can't do that on television like those I wasn't watching I wasn't the teen when they got
[01:55:09] Azalea Banks is that who it was to do those weird fucking instagram videos or facebook videos that dan sider got him to got it to do Like I wasn't doing I wasn't watching that going like what in the fuck. I wasn't in the foot zone yet
[01:55:24] Not like the lot like the kids after me got until like the weird foot There is dan siders a little foot fetish. He's a little dirty foot boy He's a fucking foot cigo. There is an episode of the podcast the sit down
[01:55:39] Which the comedian is really funny the guy who started it is a really funny guy I've tried to remember his name off top of my head micro scene. Okay, so micro scene had an episode After all that stuff hit And I believe the guests are matt christman
[01:55:55] and nick mullen And it is an intertane Is an entertaining 90 minutes is Both of them it feels like everyone that podcast is fucking coked out Are hired Is so fucking good is one of the best episodes of that show
[01:56:15] If you really want to get into the very conspiratorial early dan sider stuff now that I don't mind doing right Because all the all the shit that he like like he got away with you know
[01:56:26] In that shit like not even not even talking about the other two pedophiles Nickelodeon Yeah, the one that got away He's the creepiest boy in the world. Yeah, I'm incredibly creepy in a very different vein My breath mint this week is an indie
[01:56:45] That I picked up on steam kind of a funny story on its own. I realized that I had a bunch of Shit from my days playing CS go just kind of sitting in my steam inventory I looked around and I said oh
[01:57:00] On marketplace this this says it's like worth seven or eight bucks and so I sold a bunch of crates I sold a bunch of cs go crates On steam marketplace and got myself 20 bucks, which was just enough to buy a game
[01:57:16] I've been looking forward to playing and it's a game called Mullet mad jack. Have you heard of this? Have you seen this? I've heard of it mullet mad jack is styled in the theme of like a 90s cyberpunk anime
[01:57:31] So like think bubblegum crisis, but you're playing a guy Who drives a cool red car with the stickers on it like the akira bike even there's an akira slide in it Docking at a point already. It's a first person game
[01:57:46] Where it's all timing based right so you have this Cell phone hooked up to your veins Where you only have 10 seconds to live because of the attention economy in this future If your audience goes more than 10 seconds without a violent murder you die and so
[01:58:05] You are tasked with killing all these robots these robot billionaires called robillionaires So it's this corridor shooter Kind of like a hotline miami, but first person Extremely gory really weird really fucking fast Game and it's insanely addictive really fun to play
[01:58:26] Very tongue-in-cheek. It's very much like one of the more anti-capitalist games. I've played this year It's a fucking hoot like if you have any affection for stuff like demolition man or Or 90s action movies in general You'll have a good time with this one
[01:58:44] But you really got to be on the ball to kind of make it in this Timing based thing, but it's it's really just Wazid and two buttons it's you click to fire and right click to like slide kick
[01:58:57] And that's all you really need and you're kicking people into fans and you do and you're hitting the robots with Guns and and then in true roguelite fashion every level you choose an upgrade, right? So it's it's got a lot of that stuff that I like
[01:59:13] Kind of jammed into one package. It's very cyberpunk 2077 It's very Hotline Miami It's it's got a lot of those bits and bobs of things that you already know you like and so I was like, yeah
[01:59:28] Yeah, yeah, let's do this. I've played through it a couple times now on two different difficulties And I've only had it for like two days This is just it's a short game. You can you can beat it multiple times
[01:59:39] And every time you go through you unlock these permanent upgrades. It's a it's a greatest hits to me of like what made weirdo Arcade shooters kind of fun. I guess you can call it a boomer shooter
[01:59:52] I guess if you really want to go that way, but uh, that's what steam's calling it I think that's Dave. Oh, oh shri's whole thing is just like we're taking boomer shooter back It feels like it but like the roguelite aspect feels like it takes away
[02:00:06] That takes away a little bit from like, yeah I mean the fun fast-pacedness of those of like the boomer shooters of like, you know Doom 2 or even doom 64 or any of the other ones and the ones that have done it now
[02:00:18] Like cultic or bolt gun cult a play those bolt gun Salako I think is the other one that it's actually included in a demo with salak. Yeah, it's included in a In a bundle with salako seem sale is is summer sales happening now folks

[02:01:48] But you can't really go wrong with it four areas a couple bosses per area. There's just a wide weapon variety There's a great challenge mode one should beat the main mode again just like Mullet magic it's grotesque
[02:02:04] It's there's a lot of a lot of gibbs a lot of gore. Do you play dusk? Dusk and a mid evil. Yeah, those are the two that got me into the whole new blood roster
[02:02:15] I don't know a mid evil, but I love I really like dusk. That's yeah a mid evil is very much like your hexan Uh, so you're like your hexan. I'm vivalin on hexan, but steam south hunt down also
